Ansar Ud-Deen Grammar School in Surulere, Lagos State, recently hosted its 66th Annual Inter-house Sports Competition on February 13, 2025. The event kicked off with the Nigerian national and school anthem, followed by a thanksgiving speech by the principal, H. A. Badru. The principal welcomed everyone and acknowledged the importance of the occasion, emphasizing that the inter-house sports competition is a big event and festival, often referred to as a “school Olympics”.

The competition featured five colourful houses: Daudu (Red), Etti (Yellow), Layemi (Purple), Lawal (Green), and Pampam (Blue), which showcased their students’ attire, salutations, and march-past skills. The sports activities included a range of events such as march-past, 1,500m, 100m junior and senior, 200m junior and senior, 4x100m junior, tug of war, and races for invited schools, staff, old students, and parents. The students displayed their passion and skills in various sports activities, causing an uproar of excitement from the audience.

At the end of the day, the results were announced, with the Daudu (Red) house taking the top position, followed by Etti (Yellow), Layemi (Purple), Lawal (Green), and Pampam (Blue) houses in that order. The event was a huge success, and Ansar Ud-Deen Grammar School once again demonstrated its commitment to providing a well-rounded education to its students, with a strong emphasis on sports and academics.
