President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Flag Off Unity Torch Movement Ahead of 22nd National Sports Festival

Abuja, Nigeria – March 25, 2025 –

The National Sports Commission (NSC) is pleased to announce that His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will officially flag off the Unity Torch movement today, March 25, 2025, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The Unity Torch, a symbol of peace and unity, will embark on a nationwide tour, visiting the capitals of all states in the Federation. This initiative aims to promote national cohesion, unity, and sportsmanship, while heralding the 22nd National Sports Festival.

The Festival, scheduled to take place in Abeokuta, Ogun State, from May 16 to 30, 2025, is Nigeria’s premier multi-sport event. It will bring together athletes from across the country to compete in various sporting disciplines, promoting talent discovery and unity.

The NSC confirms that the zonal eliminations, which took place across the nation a few weeks ago, have paved the way for State contingents to compete at the main event in May.
