As President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, marks his 73rd birthday, National Sports Commission Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko has praised the President as a blessing to Nigerian sports and the nation as a whole.
According to Mallam Dikko, despite assuming office at a complicated moment in the nation’s history, President Tinubu’s experience has renewed hope in the polity through his Renewed Hope and shared prosperity agenda.
“Not everyone can accomplish what President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has achieved in such a short time,” Mallam Dikko said. “He has made bold decisions that, although painful initially, are now yielding economic stability and a positive future. His experience has been invaluable in implementing these decisions.”
Mallam Dikko also commended the President’s bold decisions in sports, particularly the return of the National Sports Commission’s full enabling powers and the dissolution of the Ministry structure arrangement.
“This decision has repositioned and upscaled Nigerian sports,” he explained. “The President mandated us to harness the potentials of the sports economy, shifting our focus from international competitions to domestic sports development, which adds value to the economy. He has provided the necessary support, encouragement, and enabling environment to achieve this goal.”
The NSC Chairman emphasized that the President’s backing has been instrumental in taking sports to another level. “History will be kind to Mr. President for his bold decisions to reset and reposition the country for a better tomorrow. As his foot-soldiers, we will continue to work tirelessly to deliver his vision and mandate within our sector.”
On behalf of the National Sports Commission, Mallam Dikko wished the President long life, good health, and the courage to continue making bold decisions. “We wish the President many more years of service to the nation. We need his leadership and experience at this critical time, and we pray for renewed strength to pilot the nation to greater heights.
